Lubbock Texas’ favorite pirate lover and head coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders, Mike Leach got canned (fired) this morning. And the freshest part of it is his lawyer recieved a letter of termination at the court house where Leach was filing a petition to get a restraining order on the University(?) to allow him to coach his team this weekend in the Alamo Bowl. Damn that’s a nice long sentence huh?

Tommorow night(New Years Eve)  in Long Beach (Wesssside!) California, my favorite new Daredevil, not this dude, Travis Pastrana (you know the double backflip guy on the motorcycle?) will attempt to make history.

With four consecutive Rally America titles, Travis Pastrana is the series’ most successful driver. Starting on the Vermont SportsCar team in 2004, in 2006 Subaru signed Pastrana to lead their Rally America team – his first national championship followed soon after. At the X Games that same year, he beat rally legend Colin McRae – perhaps the most daring rally driver in history – to the gold medal.

Before the season started this image was one of happiness for coach childress and favre and to kickoff the season with an offense that was simply dominating with play-makers like Adrian Peterson and Percy Harvin everything seemed to look good.But lately this wonderful image is turning into a daytime soap opera and with the performance of recent games that resulted in losses to underachieving teams it seems to look like a ticking time bomb on a promising post season run for the Superbowl.Hopefully the Vikings are able to turn it around but will need to get there running game going again like it did earlier in the season or there time is up.

I'll take three of these over one of McGrady anyday

As reported earlier today by the Houston Chronicle (sorry, I was in my truck when I heard) The Houston Rockets along with the agent(s) of Tracy McGrady have agreed to start dealing with trade talk.

With Rockets coach Rick Adelman unable to predict when McGrady will get significant playing time, McGrady’s representatives Monday asked that the Rockets trade McGrady, according to a person with the Rockets with knowledge of the decision. Rockets general manager Daryl Morey agreed Monday to try to trade McGrady during talks with McGrady’s representatives. Morey declined comment Monday.

The Cleveland Cavs breaks their collective feet in the Los Angeles Lakers asses (Damn, as a Laker fan, that hurt to say). The crowd was so helpful that the threw their foam seat onto the court so the home-town boys will have something soft to set on during that night’s Christmas dinner. That was so sweet of them.

First of all, here’s another reason why I think MMA is not more interesting that boxing. Real quick, name the Heavyweight Champ….I mean really, look at all those damn belts Pac is rocking right now. Damn dude, there’s kids in Africa that don’t… have… never mind. But if Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather were MMA fighters they would’ve been in the cage a long time ago. So let I get this straight. Von Wafer buys out his contract with the International Giant the Greek Olympiacos, for $1.2 million, then decides to return to the Houston Rockets after not sighing a deal to be a part of the team (or the NBA for that matter)? And all would be well?

When asked, coach Adelman said:

“We’ll wait and see. He proved last year he could play for us. We’ll just have to see how the whole thing works out. We know him, we know what he can do off the bench and we’ll see how it plays out.”
