Matt Schaub, Your Pro Bowl MVP.

Although the Pro Bowl is a big ol’ game of millionaire pick-up football, and it’s not really a national story, Houston Texans fans have something to be proud about as the AFC beat the NFC 41-34 on Sunday night.  Quarterback Matt Schaub and receiver Andre Johnson looked and played like the season was still on as they went all Techno Bowl on fools early in the first half and sealed the deal on Schaub’s MVP performance.  With  189 yards and two touchdowns, never mind that Schaub was starting because other quarterbacks either declined the invite or has an asswhipping to dish out versus the New Orleans Saints (yeah, I said it) during the upcoming Superbowl this week.

“This was a game you watched as a kid and maybe wondered if you could be here some day,” he said. “It gives you a lot of confidence. There was a ton of great players out here, and to be mentioned in the same breath is an honor. It just feels great.”

And by the way (or as the young folks say, btw),  Williams, Dre, and Ryans also left an impression on the 12 people (including me) who actually took the time to watch the game.

“To be here with three of my teammates says a lot about what we’re doing in Houston,” he said. “We made a huge step forward this season. Now, it’s about taking the next one.”

And btw, (lol) Shout out to Texans Cheerleader Randi for representing the Texans in South Florida also. Get it Girl!
