Warren Sapp Arrested, Then Released.

NFL star defensive lineman, ABC co-host of  “The Superstars” and of course “Dancing with the Stars” competitor Warren Sapp was arrested and later released on bail on Sunday after being accused by his girlfriend (who will remain nameless)  of two years of choking her at Miami Beach’s Shore Club hotel.

According to USAtoday.com:

Police arrested Sapp on Saturday on one charge of misdemeanor domestic battery, reports AP. He was scheduled to appear as a Super Bowl analyst for the NFL Network.  Sapp’slawyer, Christopher Lyons,  said the former player plans to cooperate with authorities.

“He sincerely apologizes to the NFL family and fans for taking away any distraction from today’s big game,” Lyons told AP yesterday. “We ask that everyone reserve judgment on the matter until all the facts come out in a court of law.”

Following the alleged abuse, the woman says Sapp then helped her up and pushed her out of the room. The victim says she then sought assistance from someone in the hotel hallway. Upon witnessing this, the woman says Sapp texted her, “You whore.”

Early Sunday morning model Persiana, who also goes by the name “Vegas Aysha” and describes herself on Twitter as a “Video Vixen and Magazine Blesser,” Tweeted about the Sapp situation: “A really close friend of mine was falsely accused of some serious BS and I’m sooooo upset right now! Omg! I will whoop a bitch for him.”
