Dj Gonz with a Mix for you
BasketBall Weekend For Me.
Well hopefully everyone had a good weekend.I myself had a pretty good weekend.I had a great time djing at the PAUL Mitchell school with my friend donkeeboy(www.donkeeboy.com) for a crazy art showcase and runway show with me ending up being real sick afterwards from my knee medication(trying to be derek jeter at short lol).Anyways on to the basketball talk.I had a chance this weekend to sit down for a few hours saturday and sunday (which rarely happens with two kids)and got to see some NBA action. The Lakers vs.Nuggets game was awesome and funny seeing Kobe have a bad game and whine so much(I have never seen him cry so much for calls…..hey Kobe “quit crying,we know your good and get calls but don’t act like a soccer player with your dramatics”.To my surprise I got to watch all the MAVS games this weekend. Those guys are really on a tear with Dirk “always shoot at the top of the key”Novitski making everything.Just wanted to sumeup my weekend here. Here’s the top 2 vids that were in my head from my NBA weekend.
But Josh Howard Just Got There

Wizards president Ernie Grunfeld announced today that newly acquired forward, Josh Howard will miss the rest of the season after tearing his ACL (anterior cruciate ligament). Dropping knowledge on you fools.
Howard was injured Monday night in Washington’s win over the Chicago Bulls, only his fourth game with the Wizards since being acquired from Dallas in a seven-player trade on Feb. 13. He collided with the Bulls’ Flip Murray with 4:23 to play in the first quarter and stayed on the floor for a minute before being helped off the court by two trainers.

Westbrook Released by the Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles release running back Brian Westbrook (30 years old) Today after eight years of an injury riddled career including recent concussions and several ouchies to the legs/ankles. Brian spent half of the season last year with injuries to the ankle and only scored a whopping 2 touchdowns.
We all know how 30 year old running backs are looked at in the NFL, right or wrong, but when you have had as many injuries as Westbrook, the end to his Eagles career was predictable.
The Rumors About Magic Johnson’s Laker Days
There’s talks around the innerwebs about what Jerry West (one of the great lakers ball players in the early days) having a biography and talking about Magic Johnson’s way’s with the Ladies.
Supposedly there is a passage in the Jerry West Bio that claims:
That November, as a new season was set to open, Magic Johnson announced to the world that he was HIV positive, a stunning event that brought revelations about the climate of sexual frivolity around the Lakers. Johnson admitted he had been sleeping with 300-500 people a year.
McGwire Admits to ‘Roids’ – Water is Wet

Last night my main man Bob Costas interviewed “Big Mac” Mark McGwire and he admitted to using steroids throughout his career in the Big Leagues. Oh but he didn’t need them as a performance enhancing tool. Ummm… Right.
“I was given a gift to hit home runs,” he told Bob Costas on MLB Network.
“I truly believe so,” McGwire said. “I believe I was given this gift. The only reason I took steroids was for health purposes.”
Ummm…. Riiiiight!

Brian Williams – My New Hero
Brian Williams of NBC Nightly News got all personal in McGwires face as he opened the show last night.
”Good evening. Because this is a family broadcast, we probably can’t say what we’d like to about the news today that Mark McGwire—the home run hitter, the family favorite from the St. Louis Cardinals—stopped lying today and admitted that he did it while on steroids. For those of us who were raising young baseball fans and baseball players who looked up to Mark McGwire, that summer of ‘98 was magical stuff, as he and Sammy Sosa vied back and forth for the title of Single Season Home Run King. He didn’t tell the truth to Congress or to his fans until finally, formally coming clean today. He’s been unable to get into the Hall of Fame and, apparently—even for him—the shame here was too much.”
Broadway Joe’s Daughter Arrested

Fun fact:
If you’re rolling in Jupiter Florida, try your damnest to respect speed limits, stop signs, and/or old ladies in a brand new freaking Caddy(How does that happen?). It would be also great to watch out for the laws.
So with that, I give you 19 year old Olivia. ( I kinda screwed up the famous relations with the title didn’t I? ) Joe Namath’s daughter Olivia was pulled over for (in a bad ass silver Mercedes) doing 58 in a 50 mph zone Sunday, which led to her arrest on marijuana charges (Jupiter cops – watch out!).
The NBA has Suspended Gilbert Arenas Indefinitely

As fall-out from the Gilbert Arenas-Javaris Crittenton show down at the OK corral, Washington Wizards (not as bad as Redskins huh?) star Gilbert Arenas has been suspended “indefinitely” by the NBA. Did you get all that out of the title? I sure did.
“Although it is clear that the actions of Mr. Arenas will ultimately result in a substantial suspension, and perhaps worse, his ongoing conduct has led me to conclude that he is not currently fit to take the court in an NBA game,” commissioner David Stern said in a statement Wednesday. “Accordingly, I am suspending Mr. Arenas indefinitely, without pay, effective immediately pending the completion of the investigation by the NBA.”
The Texans Need A New Offensive Coordinator

With the news of Mike Shanahan sighing on to a five year (whole bunch of money) deal with the Washington Redskins (how racist is that name anyway?)it should be no surprisethat his son, Kyle is leaving the Texans to join him as offensive coordinator. So with his 7th season upcoming Kyle will become a Redskin (seriously, redskins?).
