Pittsburgh Steelers’ quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger is being accused of sexual assault of  a 20-year-old college student in a nightclub south of Atlanta on March 5.  Now the fine, Milledgeville police have requested a DNA sample from the Super Bowl champ.

Milledgeville police Chief  Woodrow Blue accompanied by Georgia Bureau of Investigation agent Tom Davis announced the request along with other details Monday evening. Blue states the player is being cooperative, and will comply with a DNA test.

The young lady in question claims that Roethlisberger assaulted her Friday in the bathroom of a nightclub. She reported the assault to a patrol officer outside the club and was immediately taken to a local hospital for an examination.

Milledgeville police say they are also studying security videos from the club. Ben was questioned by the police at the scene and was released to leave the state. The hell?

“The facts show that there was no criminal activity. No sexual assault occurred,” Roethlisberger’s Atlanta attorney Ed Garland said in a statement Monday. “Ben is completely innocent of any crime.”

A witness in the case also spoke to a local paper.

A bartender who is familiar with the accuser, told the Union-Recorder that the alleged victim was with Roethlisberger most of the night including stops at the Velvet Elvis and The Brick, two other local bars.

“It wasn’t like he grabbed just some girl,” said Scott Eady. “She was with him all night.”

You know after a while of hearing the same stories about a person, you can’t help to start believing some of this stuff is true. This is the second time a woman has accused Roethlisberger of sexual assault. Maybe it’s time for ol’ Ben to stay his ass at home. Or maybe bring the party to his house. Or something.

Saturday morning Citadel quarterback Miguel Starks, a 19 year-old from Atlanta was *inhales* arrested and charged with armed robbery, first-degree burglary, kidnapping and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.And the recipient of said crimes you might ask - one of his  own coaches at The Citadel, assistant coach Joshua Harpe.

The  police affidavit states that Starks came to the victim’s apartment, pointed a handgun at him, then struck him in the head with said handgun, then ordered him back into his apartment. Once inside, Starks then bound the victim with black duct tape around his legs, mouth and eyes and threw him face down on the living room floor. Starks was accompanied by Stephen Francios, Reggie Rice.

Head Coach Kevin Higgins said he was not only shocked by the incident but also angered and saddened.

“Senseless does not begin to describe the situation,” Higgins said in the release. “Miguel is an only child, loved and provided well for by his parents Michael and Sharon. He has many talents and football is just one of them.”

It seems like every year some NBA jobber decides to become the next “Kobe Stopper”. And every year that said jobber ends up on the business end of a Bryant scoring run. This theory still applies today except for one Matt Barnes of the Orlando Magic.

Barnes decided to become the next Raja Bell and get a little chippy with Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant last night in Orlandos 94 -96 victory over the Lakers.

Barnes even went kindergarden on Kobe durning an inbound pass when he tried to fake the ball to Kobe’s face to make him flinch. Bryant didn’t move by the way. Dude, how old are you?  After almost a whole game of going after each other, the two both got technical fouls and from the looks of it, Barnes was really trying to get that second. Lakers teammate Lamar Odem was not impressed, and went all WWE on fools.

“He (Barnes) got the crowd into it. Ric Flair does the same thing. He had all the wrestling regalia today. All he needed was a cape and some tights.”

Odom really doesn’t like Barnes I think.

Odom, without being asked, called Barnes “a monkey,” when he heard someone across the locker room asking teammate Ron Artest about Barnes. He was asked later about the remark. “That’s an inside joke,” Odom said. “The rappers that are feuding with each other, Rick Ross and 50 Cent. They are feuding with each other. That’s an inside joke with this team. Matt Barnes is a cool dude. If I call him a monkey, I don’t mean it. If I call him a super hero, I don’t mean it. He did what he had to do. He played a great game, got the crowd involved.”

Nice recovery. But I’ll say this – The difference between Barnes and Flair is… Flair dosen’t suck.

I was gonna leave this alone and just write it up as rumor until I saw that Milledgeville authorities are planning to release more details this afternoon about the allegation that Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisbergermay have sexually assaulted a Georgia College & State University student last week. Umm…..

Police said the woman reported that she was “sexually assaulted or sexually manipulated” by a man she described as 6-foot-5 and 241 pounds. She did not name Roethlisberger, but the two were seen at “multiple establishments” in Milledgeville late Thursday, according to police.

Police interviewed Roethlisberger, 28, but he was not charged. He has since left Georgia, where he has a home on Lake Oconee near Milldegeville.

Big Ben has hired the services of attorney bad-ass Ed Garland who also represented Ravens lineman Ray Lewis in his 2000 murder case which he beat and right after the ink dried he served up Atlanta native Jamal Lewis, who was accused of a federal drug conspiracy to a righteous trial. He did like four years in minimum security.

But anyway, when these details are released, I will keep you posted.

LSU’s Terrance Toliver was tased after a fight in a Baton Rouge bar.  Police say Toliver was involved in a fight outside of  “Fred’s Bar”  along with another LSU athelete and a third man. Toliver was cited for disturbing the peace by public intoxication and resisting an officer in a fight at 2 a.m. Sunday.

Dennis Harris, a redshirt freshman on the men’s basketball team, was cited for interfering with a police officer and entering or remaining after being forbidden while the incident was under investigation.Police say Toliver and Timothy Moran were observed fighting in the parking lot outside the bar. Investigator said Toliver refused to comply with officers’ commands and was tased.LSU coaches and university officials said they plan to meet today with Toliver and Harris.

Sunday evening brought more than the excitement of the Jonas Brothers at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. How can that be possible you might ask? Well, how about a big ass bull named “Hardball”running loose in the parking lot and right through a crowd.

“These bulls are nothing to play with and they’re never meant to be in a public area,” said Leroy  Shafer. “I can’t tell you how badly we feel that one got out. We guarantee it won’t happen again.”

Somehow the bull managed to escape when it charged a pin, causing the gate to fail. Then all hell broke loose. A cop tried to taser the bull but that only pissed it off. So he got slammed up a little bit.

And then a couple of real cowboys, Val Kilmer and Kurt Russell style, came out an roped up the bull and returned it to it’s rightful place.

 As for the injuries, we’re told a female wrangler has a bruised foot. A security officer has cuts and scratches on his back. Rodeo officials are looking at security cameras to see if the escape may have been captured on surveillance video.

Besides the fact that you will never see another owner with the drive and hustle that Mark has shown to become successful at such a young age, he’s actually a man of the people when it comes to his Mavs. Someone you and I can all relate to in his love for his team and the players on it. How many other sports team owners do you know that will leave the confines of their plush luxury boxes and actually mingle with the very fans that generate revenue? Mark does. How many other owners send a personal email stating “my treat, have fun” with courtside tickets to someone who just wanted to experience what a Mavs game had to offer? Mark did. How many others owners scream down refs after no calls and call out the Commish when he deems it necessary? Yep, you guessed it. How many other owners make the visitors locker room just a plush for the opposition as for his own guys? Mark again…are you seeing a pattern here?

Mark caught a bad rapp from the day he took over as  owner of a struggling Dallas Mavs franchise in a decrepid areana that cockroach families wouldn’t have a “reunion” in. His detractors would say he’s an arrogant, egotistical, young e-money millionaire who got lucky on the wave of .commers and .edu guys. “He’s too much of a fan for the good of his team…” they would say. Well let me tell ya something, there is not one guy out there under the age of 50 that wouldn’t be exactly the same if their gambles, hustles, innovativeness, and drive had paid off to enable them to buy a professional sports team. Mark Cuban has not forgotten the most important words in the world of business and sports “have fun!” In fact he encourages every single fan in the American Airlines Center to do the same…(see pic below shot from the best place to be pregame, the patio bar at the W hotel. jus sayin’)

I attended 2 games this week on Wednesday against the Twolves and then Friday against the Kings (nice to see Carl Landry beastin’ as usual) and you would think there would be absolutely no energy in the building, yet with the 8 game winning streak and the regular season winding down, the AA center was rocking like it was playoff time. It reminds me of the good ole Rockets days when people actually showed up no matter who they were playing. Wednesday night was great because I got a platinum club ticket for $20 from a guy who had an extra and ended up finding a really cool group of sports bettors who were calling each quarters trends to a T. The platinum club is a swanky midlevel bar scene where all the dolls and chachs hang to see or be seen, of course I got a lot of double takes with full sleeve of tats a blazin’ with my black/green/purple spizikes on the feet. I’m not yo average chachbag haha. Great sight lines to watch the game and the Mavs squeaked out a victory in the end to extend the streak to 9 games. I was in Dallas on business (www.pitapal.com) and wanted to check out the experience of the AA center and surrounding entertainment and scenery, I also wanted to share the experience of great food packed with protein and all natural ingredients with Mark while I was in town. As much as diet is a part of the daily regimen of being a professional athlete, Pita Pal is one of the greenest ,healthiest companies on the market. Wow what a shot in the dark produces sometime… I reached out to Mark to offer samples and tell him how I would love to check out a game while in town and the next thing I know I receive a personal email from him telling me to enjoy the game on Friday night, WHAT??. The Mavs won that one although the Kings tried to get back in it at the end, pushing their streak to 10 games (call me when yall get to 22 haha) That’s an incredible feeling to know that the owner of a major sports franchise takes the time to reach out and touch guys like us in the world who haven’t achieved all the riches of our labor, yet have all the drive and motivation to get there. I want to find this kind of financial success so I do the same for guys like me one day. I want have foundations that distribute the excess riches to those less fortunate who need staples like food/clothing and make them feel like I felt when Mark did this for me with tickets to a freakin basketball game (see below and hell yes Dirk is a Hall o Famer, that dude balls his ASS off)

All in all this is just a Thank You to Dallas for a great week and especially a guy that gets a bad rapp just for being so cooler than you, Mark Cuban, it’s an experience that will not be forgotten in my lifetime…enjoy the Pita Pal bro.
