As many of you know, the Air Jordan 2010 officially releases this Saturday, February 13- meaning it falls in the middle of the NBA All-Star weekend. Therefore, Jordan Brand is taking advantage of the timing and hoping everyone gets to enjoy its 23/25 energy space as it continues to celebrate 25 years of Air Jordans. From this Thursday, February 11 to Sunday, February 14, you are welcome to visit 2350 Victory Park Lane in Dallas Texas (adjacent to W Hotel Victory Park) between 11:00 AM and midnight to enjoy several Jordan Brand treats. Included in the festivities are a Jordan shoe gallery, ID23 customization, visits by the likes of DJ Bobbito Garciaon February 13 and Rich Medina on February 12, performances by the likes of Wale, Bun B, and Jadakiss, and much more. It appears to be a great way to both celebrate the past and ring in the future.

About a week or so ago H-town’s own Chamillionare had the chance to meet one of his boy hood idols. Well, I don’t think he was super happy about the end result. Which is the main reason I personally don’t worry myself with being star struck. Especially with athletes. I’m a Kobe fan all dizay but hell, I’d prefer to just sit on my ass and allow him and the rest of the dudes on my TV to entertain me. That way my pee pee won’t get hurt. Cham brought more evidence to the rumor that our man MJ can be a “Richard” at times. Of course this is only one side of the story.

With the release of the children favorite and now movie “Where the Wild Things Are”, by Maurice Sendak (of course) Lakai decided it would kick ass to have a shoe in memory. Being that Spike Jonze is part owner of the  Lakai brand, and directed the movie, it only makes sense. So have a look see at the line-up. Oh and go get some.

I’m not sure I could ever drive myself to actually wear a pair of Supra Skytops, but nonetheless they have some sort of market value apparently.  If I were to rock any Supras, I’d go with the new “Thunder”, not coincidentally designed by Jim Greco (formerly on VANS).  Here are your Skytops, and Vaders, a Suprano…along with a nice lil Supra x Deathwish  “Thunder” colabo  for this fine Holiday season…..

anyone who knows anything about anything knows that Supreme has been puttin it down with Vans for quite sometime now, and together they have created many works of shear beauty.  Anyone that knows anything about me knows I lay it down for Vans…soooooo….did you really think I wouldn’t get this up?  Behold, your Fall/Winter Supreme/Vans collabo.   Although these are really dope, I’m really kinda tired of the checker and houndstooth thing, and don’t the reds and yellows remind you too much of Summer?  These def don’t scream “Winter” to me, but as with anything Supreme puts their name on, these will go fast and they’re probably already sold out.  Ebayers, get your shop on.  I’m just upset that there was no Sk8 Hi in this pack, but I’ll get over it I suppose, if I can score this buttery yellow Sk8 Lo, or do I really want the reds?????

while we here in Houston celebrate the coming of our two months of cool weather, the rest of the country actually celebrates this thing called “seasons”….that’s right….they actually have four separate temperaments per year….I know…crazy right?  Anyhow, I’m going to attempt to bring you some of the better lines and releases in the skateboarding shoe industry in the upcoming weeks….seeing as how Fall and Winter/Holiday releases and colorways are notoriously effing awesome. Since we were cut short by the Oklahoma ass whoopin at the hands of the fighting mormons, the show was unfortunately not all that great, but we did have this epic interview with Ben Baller brought to us by Kadoma of The H-town Sneaker Summit. If you know anything about the sneaker game, you know this guy. 1/3 of the infamous “Air Mack” sneaker collector crew…which includes DJ Homicide, the late DJ AM, and himself. Originally a DJ, he hustled his way through the record industry ranks, and on into the jewelry business, building business bridges the whole way. He joined us for a few minutes from Miami to talk about his good friend, the late DJ AM (Adam Goldstein).

The Sneak Of The Week is yet another classic retro model. Commonwealth, the well known east coast boutique, puts their spin on the Reebok Omni Pump Lite. These shoes were made popular in 1991, when Dee Brown pumped up his Omni Lites before attempting a ‘no look’ dunk that would win the NBA All Star Slam Dunk Contest. The shoe comes in three familiar Commonwealth colorways; Black Violet, and Seafoam. The shoes feature a premium leather and mesh upper with CMON embroidered onto the heel.
